The stone chip and scratch solution

Called Grandma. She seemed quite with it and didn't seem to mind the idea of the boxes. That's good, although you can never be sure what'll happen when I actually get there. I remembered that I had some cash on account with Betfair and discovered that my original £10 deposit had grown to nearly £80 with some recent success on American Idol and Eurovision. Getting it out isn't so easy! First you have to put whatever you deposited back onto the cards you used to make the deposit. Then the balance can be moved to a bank account, once that's registered, but if you want it pronto, as I thought I might, that's a £6 charge. Oh well. Took out £40.

Came up with an excellent scratch and stone chip solution. Something I had't put away was a pile of wax crayons and there were also some pastels in one of the 'new' boxes. They seems to work pretty well and have made some of the scratch far less obvious - in fact, not at all obvious until you go looking specifically for it - and some wax plus a black marker pens worked wonders on stone chips which were making the from quite grotty. Really pleased with that. Took a while but worth the effort.

Oh boy, the memories from the boxes, though, started to get to me as I was sorting what I would keep from stuff that could go or go into very long-term storage. Lots of cards from JM. She seems to have written almost every week and even sent me poems too. Prompted me to call her but, perhaps fortunately, she was in a poor reception area and it was classic 'underwater' style iPhone noise. They were remarkable days.
