I think I have more or less got up to date. So here I am in 2015, slowly running out of capital although with a pretty large stock of Corgi Toys and stamps that I am trying to move on Ebay and boxes galore of things from my mum's house that may or may not be worth anything.
I am registered with a couple of teaching agencies and both are positive about finding me work. One, where a nice young lady called Adrienne works, is particularly keen to get me working at an Arts College in Higham Ferrers Monday to Friday teaching Business, ICT and Media. It sounds the sort of stuff I could do, although I am not at all sure about five days a week and, of course, it'll take a while to figure out the curriculum.
Adrienne sent me a text at about 1:30am this morning. I didn't actually see it then but woke up for some unknown reason at 4am and saw it. PANIC!!!! I still hadn't got my DBS check through, though, so reckoned I may not actually be required today (as she had indicated that they started at 8:30am and wished me good luck!!) I dashed off a text to her saying that I had assumed I wouldn't be going anywhere until the DBS thing came through but thought I must also call the College. I was about to call them around 7:30am when I got another text from Adrienne telling me not to worry.
Another near miss! I really was not prepared for that! I am sort of ready to go next week, I think.
I am now in a sort of self denial mode, not really looking at my accounts and hoping things will work out. Someone had offered £60 for a nice Bentley Continental with a box that I had advertised for £100. It was just too low. I wrote back suggesting £75 as the car is A+ and the box pretty good too and others are making well over £100 on the site. I need the money so hope they accept but I also don't want a reputation for selling cheaply or I will have trouble later with similar models I have available too.
The days are so short now. Even though they're getting longer it is dark far too early in the afternoon and you feel that that's the end of the day.
I watched The Interview today online. There was a decent copy on YouTube. Brilliant! My sort of movie, especially as it is about North Korea. Really funny. It was much, much better made than I had expected. With all the fuss I had almost written it off as probably a B movie of little importance that would have a few jokes but not really much else. OK, it won't win any awards but it made me laugh out loud a lot. The ending was a little lame, I felt, though. I would have had the dog contain some communications chip or something or maybe have a phial of a deadly virus stuck somewhere.
So, still slightly nervous that the College may want me one day soon - maybe turning a blind eye to the paperwork which is not delayed through my fault - and really need to get the show on the road before my nerve goes completely! Have to see the dentist on Friday, though. Grrr. I wouldn't go but I lost another filling it's been pretty sharp. Once I start at school I will have trouble getting away for things like that.
